Had watched a video on you tube to see how to use it. Because of tight curves in our vent installation I had to operate from the outside vent and then go into the house to get the rest of the vent run cleaned. This unit did not require taping, since the sections locked into place with a button & there was NO WAY they come undone. The only way to separate the sections was with the tool that came with the set.Highly recommend this safety device.Snaps together and does not twist apart when you back out. Worked great to go around corners.Just used this kit day before yesterday. I'm very pleased. my dryer vent is a long run to get to the outside (I should have ordered more segments) with at least 3 90degree turns along the way. This kit seemed to navigate the turns and clean as advertised without a problem. I used my DeWalt cordless drill to spin the "snake". I did see a tendency for the line to twist up (as Ryan S. describes). But that was easily overcome by using my other hand to guide the additional line towards the vent opening. That twisting effect only appeared when I had more segments attached that were not yet into the vent, and the brush was further along down the tube. I spun the line slowly and carefully, not at full speed.The connection points are very strong. No indication of flimsy construction, or likelihood of coming apart. The segments are flexible enough to navigate the multiple 90 degree turns. The little pins ARE harder to push down to connect or disconnect. I take that as a plus. A small tool to use for that is included. I figured out a technique to grasp each end of the two rods I was connecting (or disconnecting) and used both thumbnails to push down on the pin at the same time wiggling the two segments to separate (or join) them. That seemed to work consistently.Overall, I'm very happy with the kit. Now I just need to order a few more segments. :-) two thumbs up.This is the only review I've written. I'm just so impressed with how easy this was to use and what a great job it did, that I felt the need to write a review. It's so incredibly simple to use. I'm a 60 year old woman- so if I can do it, I bet you can too. I've lived in my home for 27 years and had never done this. My dryer was working less and less efficiently so I was doing small loads and hanging most things to dry until I could look into it. I was only running the dryer a short time for a couple of things. Then one day it smelled like it was burning. I couldn't put it off any longer. I got this to see if that would fix the problem. It took about 15-20 minutes, and now my dryer is working great!!! I don't know how to add a picture from my phone or I would because I took them. I took one showing that the lint was 1/2 an inch thick all around the vent duct, and another showing the large pile of lint I got from doing this. I could feel the brush slow way down when it got to the part I hadn't cleaned yet. It took much longer to try and get the foil vent behind the dryer clamped back on tight enough so I couldn't pull it off. I finally just left it as tight as I could get it, which was tight enough to get the dryer back in place without the foil vent coming off. I don't think it needs to be on super tight anyway, but I could be wrong. I chose this one because the other ones had reviews that the poles came off in the vent because they came unscrewed. I was worried this one may be hard to put together and take apart but it wasn't. I highly recommend this product!I have a small handyman business and I have used this dryer vent cleaning kit a number of times in the short time I’ve had it. So far it has worked great and removed an unbelievable amount of lent from my customers vents. Most of them have never had their vents cleaned and were shocked see how much lent came out of their vent. The rods are VERY flexible by design so you need to add one rod at a time as you go otherwise the rods can twist up as other reviewers have shown in pictures. As you remove the rods from the vent, go one rod at a time as well and you’ll have no problem. I had one job that took 12 rods to get through but had no problem. I highly recommend this kit!I liked the fact that the Button Locking system worked fine, but when it came to application it slowed my work down. Pushing in on the tiny button with the nail tip tool to unlock my drill from a rod just to add an additional extension takes time and patience. This process must be followed every time an extension is added and if there is any tension on the ball of the locking system you will not be able to push in the ball to release it. It just takes time for the entire process. In my case, I had to take the bit out of the drill to relieve pressure on the rods before I could release the drill bit from the rods.The Morinoli vent cleaning system worked great. Shipping was amazingly fast. Thank you!!!Worked very well at removing lint build up. Suggestion for design update. Fabricate a ring to place on thumb ( or forefinger) to retract button that locks rods in place.
